Inland Empire United Endorses Joz Sida for Mayor of Fontana

Riverside, CA — Inland Empire United is proud to endorse Joz Sida for Mayor of Fontana in the 2026 General Election.

Sida grew up in Fontana and began organizing as a high school student, helping lead student walkouts around immigration in 2005 and 2006. She has since built more than 15 years of experience in electoral, environmental, and community organizing, including serving as the first Chapter Director of the Sierra Club San Gorgonio Chapter and holding organizing roles focused on civic engagement and voter participation.

Her campaign for mayor centers on changing how Fontana invests in its residents and neighborhoods. Sida has identified environmental justice and public health, affordable housing and protections against displacement, and greater investment in youth and community infrastructure as priorities for the city. Her organizing background also informs her approach to immigrant communities and her call for a city government that brings more residents into local decision-making.

Fontana sits at the center of many of the challenges shaping the Inland Empire, including rapid warehouse and logistics development, housing affordability, air quality, and questions about how economic growth translates into benefits for longtime residents. Sida’s campaign brings those issues into the race for mayor through a community-organizing lens rooted in her experience growing up in the city.
