Riverside, CA — Inland Empire United is proud to endorse Ryan Schavrien for Redlands Unified School District Board, Area 2 in the 2026 General Election.
Schavrien is a financial analyst and nonprofit leader whose professional experience centers on directing investment into underserved communities. He also serves on the board of Building A Generation, a Redlands-based nonprofit focused on supporting children and families.
His campaign emphasizes student safety, responsible fiscal management, and creating an inclusive learning environment for every student. Schavrien has called for restoring recognition of Pride Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, and Black History Month, reversing book restrictions that have affected LGBTQ+ authors and authors of color, and ensuring the district follows state student-safety requirements.
Schavrien also brings a financial perspective to school governance. He has emphasized careful oversight of district spending while protecting programs serving students with the greatest needs, improving teacher recruitment and retention, and strengthening partnerships with organized labor to expand career and workforce opportunities for students.
His approach to governance includes bringing more community voices directly into district decision-making. Schavrien has proposed a permanent roundtable bringing together local businesses, labor organizations, and community-based organizations to help inform the board’s work.
