The People Who Turned Out the Inland Empire

While we’re proud of the response from across our home, the Inland Empire, we are especially proud of the team that helped our region turn out.

Our brothers and sisters at Kindful Restoration and The Exception provided us with a team of remarkable people, composed of at-risk and formerly incarcerated men and women. People who many would cast aside, forgotten or overlooked, because it was decided they should be judged, for the rest of their lives, by the worst day of their lives.

But when given opportunity, they showed up, grabbed it by the reins, and turned out a region that is often underestimated itself. Their work, resilience, and presence made this victory possible. We could not have achieved the reach we did without them.

What This Win Means for the Inland Empire

We felt the weight of this election. The urgency, the stakes, and the meaning it carried for our families and communities. For us, for the Inland Empire, Proposition 50 was about defending our voice and ensuring fair representation.

As the polls closed, our field team remained at polling locations to ensure those in line knew their right to vote, and that they were taken care of with water and snacks. Our field office buzzed with adrenaline and exhaustion, mixed with excitement, hope, and relief. Together, our communities crossed the finish line.

California’s future is on the line this November 4. Together we can protect fair representation.

About Proposition 50

Proposition 50, the Election Rigging Response Act, was California’s answer to partisan attempts to manipulate congressional maps. It temporarily gave the Legislature power to reset congressional districts if other states tried to tilt the balance, ensuring California’s voice is protected through 2030.

The Inland Empire United team and our partners helped educate voters across Riverside and San Bernardino Counties about what Prop 50 would do, why fair maps matter, and how this measure helped defend representation for our communities.
